Fin de semaine à Tadoussac 🇫🇷

Nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous pour un long week-end rempli d’aventures et de découvertes dans la magnifique région de Tadoussac.

Au programme : une croisière en zodiac pour observer les baleines, des randonnées pédestres dans des parcs nationaux, des baignades à la plage et bien d’autres activités encore !

Cette occasion exceptionnelle permettra aux étudiants internationaux (ou non) de Polytechnique Montréal de se rencontrer et de créer des liens tout en explorant les merveilles du Québec.

L’événement sera bilingue : vos organisateurs vous donneront des instructions et répondront à vos questions en français et en anglais !

Programme

Samedi 2 septembre

• 6h30 : départ de Polytechnique Montréal
• 11h00 – 12h00 : lunch
• 15h00 : arrivée à Tadoussac
• 16h00 : randonnée dans le parc national du Saguenay
• 19h00 : dîner et/ou microbrasserie locale

Dimanche 3 septembre

• 8h30 – 9h30 : petit déjeuner à l’auberge
• 10h00 – 12h00 : baignade et randonnées aux dunes de Tadoussac
• 12h00 – 13h00 : lunch
• 14h00 – 15h30 : croisière d’observation des baleines en zodiac (groupe 1)
• 16h30 – 18h30 : croisière d’observation des baleines en zodiac (groupe 2)
• 18h30 : retour à l’auberge, souper et temps libre (suggestions : terrasses, jeux de société, promenade en ville)

Lundi 4 septembre

• 7h00 – 7h30 : petit déjeuner à l’auberge
• 8h00 : départ de Tadoussac
• 11h00 – 14h00 : randonnée à Charlevoix et lunch
• 21h00 : arrivée à Polytechnique Montréal

Ce qui est inclus

• Transport en autobus scolaire à partir et pour revenir de Montréal
• Hébergement au Motel Chantmartin (lits doubles à partager ou lits simples, possibilité de choisir des colocataires du même genre)
• Tous les petit déjeuners
• Le lunch du samedi dans l’autobus
• Un billet pour la croisière des baleines
• Un billet pour le parc national

Ce qui n’est pas inclus

• Tous les souper et les lunchs (excluant le premier lunch)
• Les activités en soirée (nous serons là pour vous guider vers les meilleurs activités à faire à Tadoussac et nous organiserons quelques jeux mais vous aurez la liberté d’explorer à votre rythme et selon vos intérêts)
• L’alcool (vous trouverez des boissons locales dans tous les restaurants, bars, terrasses, épiceries, microbrasseries de Tadoussac)

À prévoir pour chaque participant

• Maximum un sac à dos par personne (petit objet additionnel permis : sac à main ou sac banane)
• Une gourde d’eau réutilisable
• Des vêtements adaptés à la météo (température de 15 à 20C en journée, plus froid le soir et sur le bord de l’eau)
• Des vêtements chauds pour la croisière aux baleines (chandail, pantalon long, coupe-vent au besoin)
• Chaussettes et souliers fermés pour la randonnée et la croisière
• Costume de bain et serviette si vous souhaitez vous baigner

Repas

• Petit déjeuner (inclus) : buffet à l’auberge
• Lunch (partiellement inclus) : sandwich Subway inclus pour le premier lunch

We invite you to join us for a long weekend of adventure and discovery in the beautiful Tadoussac region.

On the program: a whale-watching cruise in a zodiac, hiking in national parks, swimming at the beach and much more!

This exceptional opportunity will enable Polytechnique Montréal’s international (and non-international) students to meet and network while exploring the wonders of Quebec.

The event will be bilingual: your organizers will give you instructions and answer your questions in French and English!

Program

Saturday September 2^nd

• 6:30 am: departure from Polytechnique Montréal
• 11:00 – 12:00 am: lunch
• 3:00 pm: arrival in Tadoussac
• 4:00 pm: hike in Saguenay National Park
• 7:00 pm: dinner and/or local microbrewery

Sunday September 3^rd

• 8:30am – 9:30am: breakfast at the hostel
• 10:00 – 12:00 am: swimming and hiking at the Tadoussac’s sand dunes
• 12:00 am – 1:00 pm: lunch
• 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm: whale-watching cruise by zodiac (group 1)
• 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm: zodiac whale-watching cruise (group 2)
• 6:30 pm: return to the hostel, dinner and free time (suggestions: terraces, board games, stroll around town)

Monday September 4^th

• 7:00 – 7:30 am: breakfast at the hostel
• 8:00 am: departure from Tadoussac
• 11:00 am – 2:00 pm: hike in Charlevoix and lunch
• 9:00 pm: arrival at Polytechnique Montréal

What’s included

• School bus transportation to and from Montreal
• Lodging at the Motel Chantmartin (double beds to share or twin bed, possibility of choosing roommates of the same gender)

What’s not included

• All dinners and lunches (excluding the first lunch)
• Evening activities (we’ll be there to guide you to the best things to do in Tadoussac, and we’ll organize a few games, but you’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace and according to your interests).
• Alcohol (you’ll find local beverages in all of Tadoussac’s restaurants, bars, terraces, grocery stores and microbreweries)

For each participant, please bring

• Maximum one backpack per person (small additional item allowed: handbag or fanny pack)
• A reusable water bottle
• Weather-appropriate clothing (daytime temperature 15-20C, cooler in the evening and on the water’s edge)
• Warm clothing for whale watching (sweater, long pants, windbreaker if necessary)
• Socks and closed shoes for hiking and cruising
• Bathing suit and towel if you want to swim

Meals

• Breakfast (included): buffet at the inn
• Lunch (partially included): Subway sandwich included for first lunch
• Dinners (not included)
• You must specify any allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions at the time of registration so that we can adapt your meals.

Other important details for everyone

• Only 56 places available in all: first come, first served
• Online payment by credit card only
• Your matricule will be required to verify your student status at Polytechnique. Make sure you have it on hand at the time of purchase, otherwise your ticket will be cancelled.
• No refunds are possible, but you may change your participant if you notify PolyExplore by e-mail before August 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm. You must provide us with all the details of the new participant, who must also be a student at Polytechnique Montréal in order to benefit from the reduced rate.
• Detailed instructions will be sent to participants by e-mail a few days before the start of the activity.
